Scavenger Hunt
Scavenger Hunt
Definition: A scavenger hunt is a game in which the organizers prepare a list defining specific items, which the participants seek to gather or complete all items on the list, usually without purchasing them. The goal is to be the first to complete the list or to complete the most items on that list. In variations of the game, players take photographs of listed items, or get challenged to complete the tasks on the list in the most creative manner. – Wikipedia
History: For many years, the LWPC has offered a traditional scavenger hunt. Targets were provided and those who chose to participate would show their photos at the regular meeting. Participation dwindled to the point where it needed to be revitalized or discontinued. Revitalization was chosen and gave birth to the “Themed Scavenger Hunt!” Starting in 2023, a fun event was created around a theme with competition and a grand prize. Participation boomed! For 2023 it was “Photo Safari.” For 2024 it will be “Night at the Museum.”
